7th of April - International Health Day |

It is being feted since 1950 - an anniversary since the entry into force in 1948 of the WHO Charter. In July 1946 an International Health Conference took place. The adopted Charter during the Conference served as a basis for the establishment in 1948 of the WHO. The International Health Day - the 7th of April is being celebrated as well as - Day of the medical worker in Bulgaria - set by Instruction 32 of the Ministerial Council on the 6th of February 1964.
IMO team congratulates all medical workers - physicians, nurses, obstetricians, laborant assistants, medical auxilaries, hospital-attendants - on their professional festive day!

Tecnis 1 Announcement |

“International Medical Optics” Ltd. /IMO/ is an independent separate Bulgarian registered company and has been continuing its operations since 2004.
With regard to the rumors in the market, spread by competitors which are out of business ethics, we would like to state the following:
- As an exclusive distributor of Abbott Medical Optics (AMO) for Bulgaria, we do not have obstacles with supply, which to be caused by relationship problems between AMO and IMO.
- There is only Tecnis 1 monofocal IOL supply impediment due to the global recall from all markets of definite lots. Since we pay regard to AMO policies and patient safety, we returned back all the Tecnis 1 piece after the voluntary recall announcement of AMO. We continue to respect AMO policies, as patient safety is a priority for us.
- According to AMO, hundreds of thousands of Tecnis 1 IOLs have been returned back and in order to be replaced an intense work program is being implemented. However, the manufacturing has limit and AMO sends goods firtst to the USA market and after that to their direct markets. This situation has affected many distributor markets like Bulgaria. There are many countries like us waiting for more than two months for the delivery of Tecnis 1 IOL.
- We have enough stock from AMO portfolio and we do not have any problem to order any products except Tecnis 1 IOL due to the mentioned issues.
- IMO Company has made big investments in Bulgaria and will continue to invest more while bringing new technologies and solutions to our valued customers.
- We are proud of the products we offer and we would like to support you in any condition we could.

In December 2009 "International Medical Optics" Ltd. received a Certificate attesting the introduced and applied by the company Quality Management System in accordance with the requirements of the standard EN ISO 9001:2008. Within the scope of registration are import and export, wholesale and retail sale of medical equipment and devices, as well as service of medical equipment. The Certificate is one more acknowledgement of the quality principles and good practices, which IMO follows. |
