The hydrophobic acrylic material used for the new TECNIS^® 1-Piece IOL is AMO’s proven 2nd generation hydrophobic acrylic material. The glistening- and vacuole-free material does not calcify and has shown consistent clarity in millions of AMO^® lenses.9, 10 The clear hydrophobic acrylic lens filters UV light, allowing the transmission of healthy blue light needed for scotopic vision and optimal circadian rhythms.
